Hainan Airlines and Japan Airlines signed a code-sharing agreement on the Beijing-Osaka route on March 7. China is a major tourist source for Japan, and is also a major tourist destination for Japanese tourists. As the second largest city in Japan, Osaka is a finance and trade center and an important traffic hub in west Japan. Hainan and JAL will operate a total of 12 flights every week on the route with HNA operating five and JAL seven.
