Qianjiang Airport Runway will be extended

The runway of Qianjiang airport will be extended by 300 meters and preliminary designs of the construction has just been approved by the Southeast Administration of the Civil Aviation. After the runway is to be extended to 2400 meters, Qianjiang airport will be upgraded from the previously 3C to 4C status with Boeing 737 series, Airbus A319 and A320 all being able to land and take-off. The responsible person from the City Development & Reform Committee told the public that Qianjiang will be able to accommodate direct flights to and from Beijing, Shanghai and Guanzhou. The city will maximize its power to build Qianjiang into an aviation hub for the South East area of Chongqing. In addition, the upgraded Qianjiang airport will be coordinated with Guilin and Zhangjiajie to make the area an air travel Golden Triangle of tourism.
