ICAO meeting on vertical separation held

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) held a coordination meeting on the implementation of reduced vertical separation in China in Beijing. Nearly 60 representatives attended the meeting from international organizations including ICAO, International Air Transport Association, International Pilots Association, and Asia Pacific Safety Supervision Organization;, and countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Mongolia and Indonesia. Vice Director General Wang Liya of the Air Traffic Management Bureau of the Civil Aviation Administration of China also attended. The meeting was held before China implements reduced vertical separation. The goal was to negotiate with countries in the implementation of the metric system. The attendees agreed to further discuss the details of the transfer agreement and let air control units of every region be responsible for the negotiation.
