Search

China and the United States held a new round of aviation negotiations on March 14-15 in Washington, D.C. The Chinese delegation consisted of officials from the Civil Aviation Administration of China and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and was led by Vice Director Liu Fang of the CAAC International Cooperation Department. The US delegation, composed of representatives from the State Department, Department of Transportation, and Department of Commerce, was led by Director Thomas Engle of the State Department’s Office of Aviation Negotiations. The US has been urging China to sign an open skies agreement to liberalize the aviation market between the two countries. The two countries agreed to continue negotiations.
