ARJ-21 to be sold at lower price

Search

ARJ-21, the first China-built regional jet, will be sold for about US$30 million, lower than Bombardier’s C-series jet and Embraer’s E-jets, which sell for more than US$35 million each. ARJ-21’s operating costs will also be 15 percent lower than those of its rivals. Besides China, the ARJ-21 will also be marketed in Asia, Africa and South America. The maiden flight of the aircraft will be held next year and the first delivery of the ARJ-21 is scheduled for 2009. The ARJ-21 is a project involving eight Chinese aviation companies.
