The project links the aviation weather automatic observation center of six airports in Southwest China -- Chengdu, Lhasa, Kunming, Guiyang, Chongqing, Jiuzhai Huanglong -- to process real-time weather situations in connecting airports. Established by the Southwest Regional Air Traffic Management Bureau of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the project aims to address flight delays caused by weather changes, increase the efficiency of its air traffic management service operation system and ensure the flight safety of airlines. The implementation of the project has satisfied the service requirements of its clients, such as the air traffic management departments, civil aviation weather departments, and airlines and airports in the Southwest region.
