Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport posts 10 million passengers for 2007

The Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport posted an annual passenger throughput of 10 million on November 8th. It was the first time the airport reached a 10-million volume of passengers since it started operation in December 2000. In December 2006, the airport entered a joint investment with Hong Kong International Airport and become the first whole joint venture civil airport in China since the implementation of Regulations for Foreign Investment on Civil Aviation. After years of construction, the airport has become one of the largest air gateways of Zhejiang Province, serving both domestic and international flights. Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport serves 24 domestic and foreign airlines connecting Hangzhou with 86 domestic and foreign cities. It has eight foreign and regional airlines, and four domestic airlines which handle scheduled passenger and cargo flights from Hangzhou to Hong Kong, Macao, Korea, Singapore and Japan. Over 2,200 aircraft fly in and out of Xiaoshan International Airport every week. The traffic movements at the airport exceed 300 a day and the volume of passengers exceeds 30,000 person times daily.
