Airbus Eng’g Center holds first board meeting

The board of directors of the Airbus (Beijing) Engineering Center held its first meeting on July 3. Board members from joint venture companies attended the meeting.
The Engineering Center was established in 2005. Its main tasks are to undertake design work of current and future aircraft projects of Airbus. Airbus (Beijing) Engineering Center started as a solely foreign-owned enterprise in China. It acquired a business license as a joint venture issued by the Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce this past June. Airbus China Co. has a 70 percent share in the joint venture with Hafei Aviation Industry Co. owning 18 percent, Jiangxi Hongdu Aviation Industrial Shareholding Co. 7 percent and China Aviation Industry Corp. I 5 percent. At the meeting, the board approved the appointment of senior management of the joint venture, and examined the development of the current work package of the company and recruitment of Chinese engineers.
