Recently, China’s central government issued an investment of 184 million yuan to support Hetian Airport and Qiemo Airport’s construction projects. Additionally, 433 million yuan which was applied for from The Civil Aviation Development Fund has also been granted.
The feasibility study report of Hetian Airport's expansion project was approved in March 2014 with a total investment of 485 million yuan, while the feasibility study report of Qiemo Airport's relocation project was approved on Nov. 20, 2013 with a total investment of 581 million yuan. The construction of the two airports will improve local traffic conditions and accelerate regional economic and social development. The expansion projects will be the two key construction projects of Xinjiang Province this year.
According to reports, of the 184 million yuan investments issued by the central government, Qiemo Airport's relocation project accounted for 83 million yuan, and Hetian Airport's expansion project accounted for 101 million yuan. Of the 433 million yuan investment issued by the Civil Aviation Development Fund, 183 million yuan will be spent on Hetian Airport and 250 million yuan will be spent on Qiemo Airport.
