On June 20, the Northwest Regional Administration of the CAAC issued a CCAR-91 Certification to Qinghai Flying Dragon General Aviation Company. This marked the first time Qinghai Province has had its own GA company.
Qinghai Flying Dragon GA Company is jointly set up by the AVIC-China Flying Dragon General Aviation Co., Ltd, Qinghai State-owned Assets Investment Management Co., Ltd and Qinghai Aviation Investment Management Co., Ltd. It is also the first general aviation company located in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and will play an important role in meeting the needs of general aviation, improving the capability of emergency rescue and promoting local economic development.
The company currently operates three types of aircraft, the King Air 350ER, Harbin Y-12, and Avicopter AC311. The company will carry out general aviation operations and emergency rescue service in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and the surrounding area. In the future, the company will also operate commuter airline services to meet the travel demands of those living in remote areas.
