By the end of July, in China there were a total of 37 civil airports with a passenger volume of over 1 million in 2014. Among them, BCIA remains the No. 1 in passenger throughput, and is the only airport in mainland China to have hosted more than 40 million passengers. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport ranked No.2 and No.3 respectively, each with a passenger flow of over 20 million.
Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Shenzhen Baoan International Airport and other 5 airports all entered the “10 million passengers’ club”. A total of 10 airports saw a passenger throughput between 5 million and 10 million, including the Changsha Huanghua International Airport, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, and Nanjing Lukou International Airport. There were 16 airports with a passenger throughput between 1 million and 5 million, including the Fuzhou Changle International Airport, Nanning Wuyu International Airport, and Jinan Yaoqiang International airport.
