On May 15th, the test flight of the second runway at Nanjing Lukou International Airport, constructed during the airport’s Phase II expansion project, was a success.
The second runway is regarded as a key project for Lukou Airport’s Phase II expansion construction. It located in the south of the terminal area and is parallel with the northern runway. The new runway is 3,600 meters long and 60 meters wide. With a category 4F rated flight area, the airport is now capable of handling aircraft as large as the Airbus A380.

During that year, the airport’s total income was 126.4 billion Yuan, with a net profit of 31.1 billion Yuan. Lukou airport currently serves 130 flight routes, including 60 domestic cities and 20 international destinations, as well as Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
