New Terminal in Wuyishan Airport Put Into Commission on May 13

After 30 days of equipment relocation, system debugging and other preparations, Wuyishan airport's new terminal was put into use on May 13th.

Wuyishan Airport’s expansion project gained approval from the Development and Reform Commission of Fujian Province on 26 November 2010, as one of the key programs of the region. The total area of the new terminal will be 13,544 m2. The international terminal constructed in Phase I covers 4480 m2 and the domestic area finished in Phase II covers 9064 m2. Three new boarding bridges will be built, and supporting facilities such as firefighting and power will be improved. According to the construction plan, the international terminal will be remodeled first and will be used as a temporary domestic terminal. In Phase II, the domestic terminal will be remodeled. The expansion project began on May 2012, and the main construction on the international terminal was finished by August 2013, being put into use on May 13th 2014. Soon after, the old domestic terminal, in use for over 20 years, will be shut down. Remodeling work is planned to be finished by early 2015.
